The Blame Game

Blame, instead of listening - most of us do that, most of the time.

(Reading time: 2 - 3 minutes)

The tendency to resort to blame rather than listening is a common phenomenon in human communication. When faced with conflicts, disagreements, or misunderstandings, people often find it easier to assign blame rather than engage in active listening and open dialogue. In this discussion, we will explore the reasons behind this behaviour and the importance of active listening for effective communication.

One reason why people resort to blame is the human instinct to protect oneself and maintain a positive self-image. By assigning blame to others, individuals can avoid taking responsibility for their own actions or shortcomings. Blaming others provides a sense of justification and can help preserve one's self-esteem. However, this approach only perpetuates a cycle of negativity and prevents the resolution of conflicts.

Are Humans the stupidest Creatures on the planet? I am beginnin to think so.

(Reading time: 4 - 8 minutes)

A short discussion with ChatGPT.

Humans don't seem to learn from history. Are they so stupid as to be capable to cause their own extinction?

Human history is indeed marked by a recurring pattern of making similar mistakes, but it's important to avoid making sweeping generalizations about the intelligence or capabilities of the entire human species. The ability to learn from history varies among individuals and societies, and there are many factors that contribute to the repetition of certain mistakes.

Awareness by John Hain

Consciousness and Respect - two fundamental necessities

(Reading time: 2 - 3 minutes)

It is my contention that respect for oneself and for others is a quality which enables a person to grow as a human being. Lack of respect inevitably leads to situations where a disagreement on a topic can escalate into negative feelings and, worse, actions.

Human consciousness and respect are two interconnected concepts that shape our interactions, relationships, and societal dynamics. Consciousness refers to our awareness of ourselves, our surroundings, and our thoughts and feelings. It is the foundation of our subjective experience and defines our capacity to perceive, reason, and make choices. Respect, on the other hand, is the recognition and appreciation of the inherent worth, dignity, and autonomy of every individual. It involves treating others with fairness, empathy, and consideration, irrespective of their differences or beliefs.

Reincarnation and Karma

Reincarnation - Life after death? What do we really know?

(Reading time: 2 - 4 minutes)

It's amazing how many people believe in some form of reincarnation. I've been thinking quite a lot about that, and here's my view on it.

For me, it boils down to one thing: is there any proof that human Beings have more than one lifetime? I can't find any credible proof for reincarnation other than belief and those who claim to recall different lives. Those who claim they recall their previous lives, never seem to bring with them a knowledge of the details and specifically what they did well and what they have to improve on in their current life. Most also see themselves as "old souls" who have transited many times and have now reached a stage of wisdom surpassing that of us ordinary mortals, or "new souls". In China, there is even a database of "living Buddhas".

Mammon the God of Greed

Mammon, God of Greed, Stupidity and Ignorance - here now!

(Reading time: 4 - 8 minutes)

I know a person, who is a fan of just about every conspiracy theory going. One of them talks about "Reptiloids", i.e. not human beings who look like humans but are actually demons or come from another planet. I'm not clear on that, but there is something that is pointed towards in that theory. There definitely are people around who have forgotten their humanity, and what have they given it up for? Money and apparent power.

Human Education - are we focussing on the right bits?

(Reading time: 4 - 7 minutes)

Looking at the state of the crazy world we live in, it seems to me clear that whatever we have been teaching our children and ourselves doesn't work.
Oh, we are great at understanding and using technologies, but we are really crap at living together. Which one is more important to you?
Basically, we don't learn what it means to be an individual human being. Have a look at some of the definitions of the term "Human" offered over the internet - everything I came across is basically a circular definition or along the lines of "not an animal". So if we don't know what a human being is, what are we going to teach these creatures?
