Interesting Video Documentaries

Some science documentaries, which I find fascinating. 

  • The first two videos explain quantum physics as it relates to what we think of as the real world - Jim Al Khalili is a University Lecturer
  • Following on are two documentaries which point out that reality as we perceive it, is actually a fiction of our brain plus imagination
  • The birth of a planet is a documentary which explains how the earth and planets were created through billions of years
  • The Carl Sagen Documentary is from 1985 where he pointed out to Congress - including Senator Al Gore - why Global warming is and how it affects the planet
  • The second last Video explains how climate warming is already affecting the planet and
  • The final documentary shows what a huge problem plastic is in the environment

My Poster called "The Power of Now!"

This poster is how I see the reality of being alive: we are constantly subjected to change from the outside, through our position in the physical universe, through the endless permutations going on in our own internal system, add to that the pressures of our history, language, people and social circumstances and where we are positioned geographically on the planet. However, it also suggests that we have power, the power to choose how we deal with the moment: with joy or with fear, with confusion or clarity.

This poster image consists of four areas, each of which represents a different influence on human beings. The point where these areas intersect each other, is the Moment “Now”.

I’ve placed the well-known image of the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci at the intersection to represent a human being at the Moment “Now”. It is there as a representation and is certainly not meant to indicate only the male of the species. It's meant to be neutral, but I found nothing to represent genderless. My apologies to anyone who finds it offensive.

The four areas represent the pressures each human being is constantly subjected at the Moment “Now”. It is this point in time which is the only reality I have - everything else is in the past (however close) or in the future (however close). I doubt if there is any scientist or philosopher who would argue against this. This point “Now” is where we have the opportunity to make a decision as to what we do or say. In fact, this is confirmed by Quantum Physics. Are we conscious of that?
