reality is a thought coverx100

Human Beings Being Human is a reflective exploration of what it means to live consciously during the brief time we are alive.

From the moment we are born, we are shaped by language, family, culture, fear, expectation, belief, and the constant noise of the world around us. Slowly, a story forms, and we begin to mistake that story for who we are. Yet beneath the conditioning and distraction remains something simple and extraordinary: we are conscious, aware, and able to experience life itself.

David Jakob explores the gap between what human beings are capable of and the way we often live. He looks at noise, greed, blame, mechanical living, inherited identity, and the illusions through which we avoid the brevity of life. He also points toward gratitude, responsibility, listening, unlearning, conscious choice, and the possibility of becoming better people — not perfect, but more aware, more responsible, more compassionate, and more fully alive.

Drawing on a lifetime of reflection, daily practice, and the influence of voices such as Prem Rawat, William James, Swami Vivekananda, Carl Jung, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Jean Piaget, and others, this book is not an invitation into another belief system. It is an invitation to look more clearly at life itself.

At its heart is a simple question: can becoming more conscious help us become better people?

What will you do with this life now that you know you are alive?
